Clinician
Michael is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Board-Certified Counselor (NCC). He holds an MS in Inclusive Adolescence Education and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He was previously an educator in both classroom and experiential settings, and young people are a continuing focus of his work. Client needs of special interest include relational concerns, teens and young adults, parenting, school and occupational stressors, men’s issues, spiritual and religious struggles, ecological and climate-related distress, and those facing transition, loss, or other big adjustments in life.

Clinical Approach
Michael’s clinical perspective starts squarely from a humanistic approach to client concerns and their strengths but recognizes systemic, ecological, and cultural realities as well. Work is focused on solutions to help you feel better here and now, while also finding existential space for the big questions about how to live well over time. Modalities he has training and experience within are CBT and TF-CBT, DBT, ACT, spiritually-integrated psychotherapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, nature-adjunctive therapies, and eye-movement reprocessing. He draws from a few other orientations depending on client needs, and all clients can expect a warm, collaborative approach that starts wherever they are.
